STARR TraveLead Travel Insurance FAQ

For single trip travel insurance, there is no age limit for enrollment. For annual travel insurance, the enrollment age is up to 70 years old and renewable up to 75 years old.

Insured Person does not need to pay for the co-payment or deductible.

The maximum coverage period of a trip is 180 consecutive calendar days for single trip travel plan, and 90 consecutive calendar days for annual travel plan.

Insured person may call STARR 24-hour Global Emergency Assistance Service Hotline at (852) 2802 8638 for assistance. The emergency assistance services include Travel Assistance, Business Concierge, Medical Assistance, Emergency Medical Evacuation and Repatriation, Hospital Admission Guarantee, and Compassionate Visit, etc.

TraveLead Travel Insurance extends to cover amateur hazardous sports including skiing, scuba diving and hot air ballooning, and there is no restriction on height or depth.

The Policy extends to cover any follow-up medical expenses incurred, subject to the maximum Sum Insured as stated in the Schedule, within ninety (90) consecutive days after the Insured Person's return to Hong Kong provided that the first treatment must be sought outside Hong Kong.

Yes, TraveLead Travel Insurance covers inpatient and outpatient medical expenses, and there is no sublimit or restriction on outpatient expenses and number of visits.

Yes, parents or guardians can apply TraveLead Travel Insurance for children who travel alone.

For travel policies issued after Typhoon Warning - Standby Signal No.1 issued by the Hong Kong Observatory, coverage will not be provided for any losses related to that specific typhoon. All other coverages remain unchanged, subject to policy terms and conditions.
If the policy was purchased before the signal was issued, losses caused by the typhoon will be covered, and all other coverages remain unchanged subject to policy terms and conditions. STARR reserves the right of final approval and decision on all matters.

You must take 1 August as the departure date and 6 August as the return date when purchasing the insurance, covering a total of 6 days. The protection will commence after the insured person passed the Hong Kong Immigration Department counter and will end upon you return to Hong Kong. This ensures that you are fully protected throughout your entire journey — including the night of departure when heading to the airport, during the flight, and until you return to Hong Kong.

Written notice of a claim must be submitted to STARR within 30 days after occurrence of any Accident or other event that might give rise to a claim under this Policy. Provide any relevant supporting documents such as police reports, medical reports, travel documents, boarding passes or e-tickets, purchase receipts, etc. For details, please refer to the instruction on Travel Insurance Claim Form.
