● Extension of COVID-19 Overseas Medical Expenses

(a) Medical expenses in the course of a trip

If during the period of insurance the Insured Person sustains coronavirus disease (COVID-19) contracted and commenced during the Trip which directly results in the necessity of medical treatment outside Hong Kong, We shall reimburse the Insured Person in respect of the reasonable and customary medical costs subject to the following combined maximum sub-limit for both (a) & (b) per person provided that the Insured Person has received 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccines and age not exceeds 65 years old.

(b) Follow-up medical expenses in Hong Kong

When there is a valid claim for (a) above, this Policy extends to cover any follow-up medical expenses incurred in Hong Kong for the continuation of medical treatment by a Physician or Doctor and/or Hospital due to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) within ninety (90) consecutive days immediately after the Insured Person’s return to Hong Kong or within ninety (90) consecutive days after the expiry of this Policy whichever ends earlier.

The combined maximum sub-limit for both (a) & (b) per Insured Person are as follows:

If the Insured Person is under 18 years of age at the time diagnosed of COVID-19, the maximum cover limit under this extension shall be restricted to 50% only.

In respect of an annual travel policy, the above maximum sub-limit is on per policy year basis.
● Trip Cancellation

In the event of any Serious Sickness sustains by an Insured Person due to diagnosis of COVID-19, We shall reimburse the loss subject to the following maximum sub-limit per person provided that the Insured Person has received 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccines:

Age Limit

Single Trip Plan: No age limit.
Annual Travel Plan: Enroll up to 70 years old and renewable up to 75 years old.

Remarks

An individual applicant must be 18 years old or above.
For an insured person aged below 18 or above 70, the maximum sum insured of Accidental Death and Disablement shall be subject to 50% of the selected plan, or up to maximum of HK$500,000 whichever is lesser.
For an insured person above 70, the maximum sum insured of Medical Expenses shall be subject to 50% of the selected plan.
Personal money is not applicable to insured person aged 10 or below.
The maximum trip duration for single trip and annual travel plan is 180 days and 90 days respectively.
Insurance cover will automatically be extended up to a maximum of 7 days if the trip is delayed for any reasons outside the control of the insured person.
Written notice (email: Asia.AHclaim@starrcompanies.com) of a claim must be given within 30 days after the incident.
Any services under section 4 must be arranged by Starr Global Emergency Assistance.
